Reckord Celebrations

Presented by Talawa Theatre Company and The London Hub in association with Bush Theatre

Barry Reckord, who died last year, was a pioneering playwright who made a significant contribution to British theatre.

Reckord Celebrations celebrates his legacy and pays tribute to his life and work.

Highlights of the evening include contributions from Reckord’s contemporaries, Diana Athill, Yvonne Brewster, Don Warrington, critic Michael Billington and writer and director, Hassan Mahamdallie, alongside readings from Reckord’s most memorable plays and a selection of his work for television.

The proceeds from Reckord Celebrations will go to The Barry Reckord Bursary newly launched to support emerging BAME playwrights.
