Compton Bay, The Isle of Wight. A beach where time seems to stand still. Lucy and her group of friends arrive for the weekend to escape from the world they are all disenchanted with. They drink, smoke, play some music and of course, dabble in some magic. But what they thought was going to be a bit of fun, instead becomes an unexpected opportunity to change their lives forever.
The Spring Breeze Turns To Rain is the new play by Sheffield Theatres shortlisted writer Joe Facer. Combining naturalism with the sense of the fantastical, the piece follows on from his previous work of creating new mythology for a modern audience.
Presented as a rehearsed reading, the piece delves into themes of class, grief and our drive to create a better world and the depths we are willing to go to achieve it.
