ALT B: Poetry & Me Live

Poetry & Me is an evening of live poetry and conversations brought to you by A The Poet, a Zimbabwean born creative from Leeds currently living in West London.

A The Poet hosts a variety of poets from across the world as they share their journey into writing. She explores their writing techniques, the way they get over writer’s block and what initially brought them to poetry.

Expect to be inspired and entertained by amazing spoken word poets and writers. Their journeys are not the same but they all share a passion for storytelling!

Open Mic slots will be available at the end of the evening, please provide your name when checking in with one of the Poetry & Me Team.

Miss KellyAvor

Growing up Kelly always enjoyed writing and storytelling. She found herself writing her first poem in 2013 as a means to express herself and continued doing so ever since. 2022 Kelly’s friend took her to her first poetry event in Peckham and that’s when she was inspired to share her art. Kelly connected with a few poets and also met Amanda there! “Through the Poetry & Me Live platform I’ve been able to progress as a spoken word artist and develop courage.” Kelly did her first open mic slot at a Poetry & Me Live event in 2023. She hopes her art can lead her in the direction that God wills, and reach the people that need to hear it. Some of her pieces will show the journey of growth and healing which many people can relate to.
You can find Kelly on instagram under @MissKellyAvor.
