ALT B: The Pudding Club – Rehearsed Reading

Produced by Pudding Club Theatre Company

Mothers are more than just carriers and carers of children, a sentiment vividly explored in The Pudding Club.

This bold and fast-paced play follows Jane, a first-time mother, as she navigates the physical and emotional turbulence of pregnancy. From morning sickness to hormonal changes and the anxieties of becoming a parent, the story captures the unique and universal experiences of motherhood. Drawing on real-life stories from 26 interviewees across seven countries, the play delves into Jane’s strange dreams, physical changes, and the mysteries of a cryptic diary. It challenges societal norms, addresses issues around female image and mental health, and advocates for a supportive environment for future mothers. This is an authentic exploration of womanhood, motherhood, and everything in between.

Join Pudding Club Theatre Company and LemonVerse for a captivating play reading on the untold aspects of motherhood, followed by a 20-minute Q&A session.
