Mush and Me

by Karla Crome
Presented by Lip Sink, Francesca Clark Productions in collaboration with Richard Jordan Productions
He had two sons. Isaac AND Ishmael. And Ishmael branched out a bit. He went to live in the desert, got married, had children. Then, a few hundred years later, the prophet is born and boom. It’s Islam. So me and you are actually related.

A Jew and a Muslim walk into a bar… People talk. Rumours spread. In Wetherspoons and hotel rooms, two young believers are reluctantly falling in love. Cultural pressures and contemporary life collide in this funny new love story by Karla Crome. A story about faith, family and bacon butties. Winner of the Ideas Tap Underbelly Edinburgh Award and Holden Street Adelaide Fringe Award.

True Brits

by Vinay Patel
Presented by Rich Mason Productions in association with HighTide Festival Theatre
When a violent encounter leads to a whirlwind romance, young Rahul is more than willing to be caught up. But in the aftermath of 7/7, his world changes in ways he cannot control, drawing him into ever-darker places as he struggles to remain part of a British society that now distrusts him on sight.

Sweeping between the paranoid London of 2005 and the euphoric city of the 2012 Olympics, HighTide Escalator writer Vinay Patel’s debut play is an honest, humorous, hopeful play about wanting to love and be loved. By your crush. By your friends. By your country. Following a highly acclaimed run at this summer’s Edinburgh Fringe, True Brits has its London debut at RADAR.
