Eritrea: Culture and Resistance to Imperialism Attack

An event in our library as part of #MXSummerFest
The Malcolm X Movement’s first annual Malcolm X Summer Festival features this event on Eritrea.

Eritrea is a young country in East Africa which has been caught up in the news recently in terms of Eritrean migrants’ plight across North Africa towards the southern coast of Europe, but also for British and other western countries’ sanctions imposed on a country which feels it is not at all guilty of the ‘imperialist’ human rights accusations it has received. This event seeks to educate and enthral an audience as to the social, political and cultural realities and pride of Eritrea. The event will feature special guest Mohamed Hassan and a chance to savour the taste of some of the most ancient coffee in the free Eritrean coffee ritual!
