Our Building is Open

In line with current government advice, our building is now open with key safety and social distancing measures in place and new opening times.

At the Bush, community comes first, and as we journey out of this crisis we are determined to bring our communities with us. Since re-opening the building on 6th August, we have worked with 150 artists, local residents and young people, and welcomed 300 visitors.

We are now excited to announce our sixth Emerging Writers Group programme, which gives playwrights the chance to develop a full-length script with support from our team. It’s an amazing way of bringing important new voices into UK theatre.

We are also continuing our Summer Project for 14-17 year olds from West London, asking those young people to work alongside the Bush’s artistic team to create the theatre’s first ever Young People’s Company, launching in 2021.

All of this work has been made possible by the success of our Write the Bush’s Future campaign. So far we have raised 50% of our £50,000 fundraising target, but in the current climate, where we have lost nearly half of our usual income (which comes from ticket sales), we need support more than ever to ensure our future.

Join our community by giving just £60 to ‘Write the Bush’s Future’. The money raised by this group of very special donors will support our artistic team, writers and emerging artists to create the innovative, groundbreaking theatre we are so known for.

Our Library Bar is serving drinks and food, and you can enjoy a number of events here this Autumn, from our new Bless Up Bottomless Brunch to the return of the popular Bush Theatre Pub Quiz.

Any money spent at our bar will directly support our work and ensure we come out of this crisis stronger than ever. Booking ahead is encouraged to avoid disappointment and to make visiting the Bush as safe as possible we have made key changes to all front of house areas. 

The Bush team continues to read scripts, meet with writers, care for the creative needs of its community and dream up big projects for the future.

We are open. Creating again with our artists, young people and local communities.
